If you have one criteria - say 'how we look' - then if everyone is beautiful then no-one is beautiful.  If everyone is exceptional then no-one is exceptional.

If you consider lots of criteria - say our looks, our mind, our character, our skills - then yeah, God has made us all beautiful in our own individual way - we are precious to him.

But without doubt our culture focuses on one - our appearance.  We are bombarded with it from a young age.  Did you know...

Up to 10% of cases of anorexia in Ireland are now occurring in those aged under 10.

Physical beauty is a lovely gift from God (read Song of Songs), but when we turn the 'gift' into a 'god', we stop being thankful for it and we start worshipping it.

The problem with worshipping a gift, is that it never satisfies - eventually it destroys.  God tells us to be thankful for the gifts that He has given us - whether our looks, our minds, our skills, our relationships - and to worship HIM as God, not His gifts.

We have a generation of young girls being taught to worship physical beauty - it will mess them up. It's time to remember the God who made us...
